One of the aims of Amano Christian School is that orphans should comprise at least ten per cent of the student body. Commencing January 2010, thirteen of our pupils (from a total of ninety-four) are orphans and therefore require full sponsorship. You personally, or with your friends or perhaps your church could sponsor one or more orphans, but you can also share the burden with others - it is possible to partially sponsor an orphan child. The full cost is £135 per month for primary children and £150 per month for secondary children. These costs include accommodation, clothing and food as well as education. You may also make a one-off gift or occasional gifts for orphan support. Please let us know if you can help in this vital work by using the 'Contact Amano' page.
Apart from the orphans, our Zambian children come from a variety of backgrounds, but in accordance with our vision we are especially keen to take those whose parents are in full-time ministry in Zambia or other countries. These children qualify for partial sponsorship and we have a Bursary Fund for this purpose. You can choose to make regular, occasional or one-off gifts to this fund, which is distributed at the Governors' discretion. You can learn more by contacting us via the 'Contact Amano' page.
Zambian teachers are encouraged to join us on the same basis as overseas missionary staff, which means they are not paid but obviously need support. Support from within Zambia is difficult because of the generally low income level, nevertheless we try to encourage it where possible. However, one of our aims is to increase the number of Zambian teachers and so we know that looking to the Lord for support for this from overseas is essential. A special fund is in place to encourage this partnership in the gospel, which benefits both the teachers themselves and ultimately Zambia, because of the high standard to which the teachers are trained. Your gifts to this fund are a vital help in allowing us to help both individuals and the nation. Again, you can find out more by using the Contact Amano page.
